Resilience & Foresight Services was honoured to support House of Wolf to refine and develop the $500 000 award winning submission for the Arctic Inspiration Prize. As Project Manager, Katie worked with the team to build the ICSPP vision, a workplan and partnerships and to pen the final winning submission.

Client: State of Massachusetts, Department of Environmental Protection
Utilizing a strategic foresight approach, this initiative brought together diverse local, state and federal stakeholders and first responders to examine the implications of global and state decarbonization policies, climate change hazards, and emerging marine fuels and technologies, on marine oil spill and emergency response. Through this work a series of actions were identified, aimed at minimizing risk, building partnerships, facilitating safe decarbonization, and supporting a safe and thriving marine economy for coastal Massachusetts.

This full day training session brought together 3 northern organizations to build futures literacy and apply strategic foresight tools. Together teams mapped the way that colliding values, trends and worldviews could unfold in the North. We had so much fun!

Client: Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation
Location: Old Crow, Yukon
This ongoing advisory work is aimed at supporting VGFN Citizens, leadership and staff in community-centred efforts to lead flood planning and coordinate across many levels of government and different agencies to prepare the Arctic community of Old Crow for annual flood risk. This collaborative work resulted in a Public Safety Canada Exemplary Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to Emergency Management in 2024 for the many agencies and Citizens involved. In 2025 a renewed, community-based flood plan was implemented successfully during flooding that led to the temporary evacuation of a number of homes.

Client: House of Wolf & Associates, Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation
Location: Old Crow, Yukon
Over a one year period, this project worked with Citizens and staff of Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation to understand the complex factors contributing to disaster and climate risk and resilience for the community of Old Crow. The project sets out actionable recommendations to build on the strengths of the community and culture, and revitalize a culturally rooted approach to disaster and climate risk reduction. This project was completed in partnership with House of Wolf and Associates.
